A long-running housing price dispute in Thane is ending with cheaper homes for hundreds of buyers. MHADA will cut prices at its Chitalsar-Manpada project from around Rs 51–52 lakh to roughly Rs 44–46 lakh after authorities ordered the older 2020–21 property rates to be used instead of the newer 2025–26 rates. The 434 buyers who already accepted their allotments will keep them, while the remaining flats will be offered through a fresh lottery at the reduced prices. For prospective homeowners, rolling the clock back a few years has suddenly become worth several lakh rupees.
