Mumbai Metro One has introduced short-loop trains between Andheri and Ghatkopar during the evening rush, cutting headways from 3 minutes 20 seconds to three minutes and boosting capacity by more than 20% - around 28,000 extra commuter trips. The change is expected to benefit over 85% of passengers on the corridor, while weekday services have increased from 476 to 484. Commuters are already asking for the same system in the packed morning rush, a reminder that in Mumbai even 20 seconds can be valuable real estate.
