After years of meeting in rented halls, a growing community of senior citizens may finally get a permanent place to call its own. The Ghansoli Senior Citizens’ Association in Navi Mumbai is in talks to secure a CIDCO plot at a concessional rate, with its president saying progress with the authorities could bring results within the coming months. Membership has grown significantly over the past 15–20 years, increasing the need for a dedicated space for social and cultural activities. For a community built around staying connected, having a home of its own could make quite a difference.
