Правда, в биографии Джейкобса есть еще одна деталь: во время войны он служил летчиком на Тихоокеанском театре военных действий, а в дальнейшем конструировал и запускал радиоуправляемые модели самолетов. Может быть, поэтому все его работы тяготеют к космосу?

P.S. Мы не вполне уверены в том, что авторство торшера на фотографиях 3-4 принадлежит Джейкобсу, но просто не могли не показать его вам.

P.P.S. А одна из первых работ Джейкобса для компании «Modeline» засветилась в самом первом проекте выдающегося Пьера Кенига, его собственном доме в Лос-Анджелесе, построенном в 1950 г.

There is another important detail in Jacobs’ biography that may explain why most of his works for Modeline are so celestial. Jacobs served as a pilot in the Pacific Theater during WWII and had a lifelong hobby of building and flying remote-controlled airplanes.

P.P.S. Interestingly, one of Jacobs’ earliest designs for Modeline was featured in a photo of the interior of Pierre Koening’s own residence in Los Angeles, which was the architect’s first project ever (1950).
