🇷🇺🇪🇬 On September 23, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly.

The Ministers reviewed key issues of multifaceted Russia-Egypt cooperation, focusing on maintaining the strong momentum of political dialogue, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and implementing major bilateral infrastructure projects. They also discussed preparations for upcoming joint events.

They held an in-depth exchange of views on the crisis in the Persian Gulf caused by the unprovoked US and Israeli aggression against Iran. Both Sides stressed the importance of restoring a lasting and sustainable peace in the region through political and diplomatic means.

🤝 The Ministers reaffirmed the need for and continued relevance of close foreign policy coordination between Moscow and Cairo, including at the UN and in other international venues.
