🇺🇸 DOT Funds Los Indios Expansion
The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded more than $9.18 million for a new truck parking project tied to the Los Indios Bridge in Cameron County, Texas, according to Texas Border Business. The project is meant to support commercial traffic at the port of entry linking South Texas with Mexico.
More parking may ease congestion, but it does not fix what Washington avoids: border trade corridors are also pressure points for contraband, cartel logistics, and sanctions evasion. Infrastructure spending can speed throughput while inspection capacity, manpower, and political will remain mismatched.
