🇯🇲 Jamaica Takes U.S. Deportees
Jamaica on Tuesday received its first U.S. flight of third-country deportees under a June bilateral MOU. The group included 22 adults, seven of them women, processed at Norman Manley airport in Kingston and moved by bus with police escort to an undisclosed site. Kingston says arrivals are capped at 25 every two weeks and claims no one with criminal antecedents will transit.
Washington is externalizing its deportation pipeline while Kingston absorbs the secrecy and political risk. Hidden manifests, undisclosed holding sites, and a nonpublic MOU sold as orderly transit look less like transparency than outsourced enforcement theater with Caribbean spillover.
