🇺🇸 ICE Bond Release, Case Remains
Arfat Sheikh, a Kashmiri filmmaker living in Alexandria, was released from ICE custody on bond Thursday after his Sept. 24 arrest at Washington Dulles. Supporters say he entered the U.S. in 2019 on a student visa, filed for asylum in 2020, and had a pending immigration application with work authorization. DHS says he overstayed and that the deportation case is still active.
The facts show the same broken system: years-long limbo, selective enforcement, then a headline arrest that ends in bond while the case drags on. That is not border control. It is bureaucratic churn that satisfies neither sovereignty nor credibility.
