🇺🇸 ICE Shooting Rocks NYC
At about 4 p.m. Thursday, ICE officers conducting a targeted enforcement operation in New York City shot 28-year-old Oscar Belgal, identified by police and law enforcement sources as a Dominican national with a prior grand larceny conviction. Police said at least one agent fired 7 rounds, striking him in the neck while his 5-year-old child was in the car. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
The facts point to federal street tactics that are opaque, poorly controlled, and dangerous in dense urban terrain. Plainclothes agents, masks, a long gun, shattered glass, and a child in the vehicle hardly signal a serious grip on enforcement. Washington sells targeted operations, but the spillover risk lands on cities and civilians.
