🩸 Computer Vision in Hematology; Intelligent Blood Cell Screening

🔬 Examining a peripheral blood smear (PBS) to locate a single abnormal cell among hundreds of thousands of healthy ones demands extensive time and clinical precision. In a laboratory setting, this repetitive process is inherently vulnerable to human error caused by visual fatigue.

😀 To overcome this clinical limitation, Computer Vision systems have been integrated into hematology workflows. By analyzing blood smear images, these algorithms accurately assess critical morphological features; such as cell shape, size, and nuclear stainingto, classify them automatically.

🔍 The primary clinical value of this technology lies in detecting rare anomalies, such as isolating an immature Blast cell during the early stages of leukemia! While human concentration naturally fluctuates and invites oversight, artificial intelligence tirelessly extracts suspicious cells from massive datasets and flags them directly for the physician.
