⚡️🇺🇸🇸🇦 — The U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia has issued a security alert requiring government employees to obtain special authorization before using any airport in the kingdom.
The alert advises citizens to exercise extreme caution, anticipate cancellations and airspace closures, and confirm flight status directly with airlines and airports. It warns that American citizens have been detained for photographing recent events, and that filming or sharing information about missile and drone interceptions or impact sites can lead to legal liability under Saudi law.
Government employees cannot travel within 20 miles of the Yemen border and need authorization to visit Jizan, Asir, Najran, Qatif, Yanbu, and Taif. Car, train, and bus services may offer alternatives to flying.
