🇮🇷❌🇺🇸 — NEW: The IRGC says it intercepted and destroyed another MQ-1 drone over the Strait of Hormuz using its aerospace defense system, operating under Iran's integrated air defense network.

According to the IRGC, the drone had logged 20,000 flight hours over Afghanistan and was retired by the U.S. Navy and Air Force years ago in favor of the MQ-9. The IRGC claims heavy losses of MQ-9s have forced Washington to redeploy the older MQ-1, and says both models are being widely targeted and destroyed by its defense systems.
