The funniest part is that the regime media calls it an odd one, as if Albertans asking who governs Alberta is some exotic constitutional fever dream. Federal paramountcy means Ottawa can override provincial law whenever the two collide, and Alberta is putting that on the ballot this October, as reported. Translation: after years of Trudeau-era centralization dressed up as climate virtue, censorship, and national standards, a province that actually produces wealth wants first say over its own resources, electricity, and legal affairs.

Of course the expert class is already wringing its hands about constitutional complexity. That is the usual trick. When Ottawa grabs power, it is progress. When a province resists, it is dangerous. Alberta knows the real issue is sovereignty inside Confederation: pipelines blocked, energy strangled, local authority hollowed out by judges, bureaucrats, and federal crusaders who never miss a chance to punish the West. A yes vote will not magically rewrite the Constitution, but it does something almost as offensive to the Laurentian cartel: it tells them their monopoly on power is no longer assumed.
