Iran now says it’s intelligence agencies believe Israel may be preparing a "false flag" attack on aircraft or airports in the region and then blaming Tehran to create a new wave of attacks against Iran, per Fars News.

Fars repeated that Iranian security agencies are reportedly now focused on preventing such an operation, with the warning coming just hours after the Flydubai incident triggered fears of a hijacking and an emergency security response in Israel.

The claim comes as Israel and Iran trade warnings over a possible attack.

Netanyahu has warned that Israel's enemies may try to strike before the October 27 election, while Tehran is now accusing Israel of preparing a staged aviation attack that could be blamed on Iran.
