🤩🌳 Arvydas Šliogeris’s critique of Christianity excessive noise of language itself be understood as an unconscious movement toward something deeply Christian, His resistance to the externalisation of being, to the endless proliferation of language, concepts, representations, and religious abstractions seems like a longing for something more primordial state, towards silence of the Garden of Eden. This becomes particularly striking in Šliogeris’s obsessive attention to nature and his use of his photograph as a way of encountering reality. His statement, “This is my Bible,” is especially revealing. Nature appears to become his own sacred text, not a text composed of doctrines or propositions, but something immediately present before him.
