Did you know some activists doing their best to revive already extinct languages?
Yes, if any language went obsolete, its story didn't halt at all! Many activists, who are interested not only in linguistics, but history as well recover old languages, which native speakers ceased to exist many years ago. Most famous example of the successfully revived language is Hebrew! The language was reopened by Eliezer Ben-Yehuda in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, so nowadays Hebrew is widely spoken in Israel and Jewish diasporas abroad.

Can AI be used for learning endangered languages?
Well, yes and no. For sure, Artificial intelligence helps sniff and sort out information from different resources and this is definitely a wholesome feature, but there is always one exception. It may be not a very nice idea to ask to teach AI you particular moments, as it's imperfect and may "hallucinate" (misinform users and send gibberish).

AI is okay to use as a supplement tool, which can help you with searching resources up, but be careful with it as well! Happy learning ;)

What does "heritage language" mean?
You might wonder about the "heritage language" term, like, what it means? Heritage language is a language of your close ancestry (not 500+ years ago), which you don't speak. Some serious dudes who work in a linguistic sphere may object "it is a language of your grandparents/parents they haven't taught you" and they will be right to some extent as this definition also fits the term, but in more broad sense, as I said before, it can also mean a cultural spirital connection to a language of your ancestors

What endangered languages are spoken near me?
There is a way to check it! I implemented an online interactive map where you can observe languages in your area and all around the world. It may take a few seconds to load all map marks.
*If you noticed mistakes regarding placed languages on the map, don't hesitate to contact me via direct messages :)
