Buryat is a part of the Mongolic language family and official language in Republic of Buryatia [region in Russia]. It's also spoken outside Buryatia, for instance in Irkutsk (although I haven't even noticed that when I visited it lmao). There is a lack of native vocabulary, so some words are borrowed from Russian (so poliklinnika [clinic/hospital] becomes poliklini). Sometimes "Ү", "ү", "Ө", "ө", "Һ", "һ" letters are used. In my family, nobody speaks it except for my uncle, so it’s not really used. This happened due to the fact of Buryat being an endangered language. In my city you can see signs in both Russian and Buryat, but Russian speaking population still do prevail.
