The driver was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when they struck the pedestrian crossing the street and continued driving without stopping. The pedestrian ran after his dog.

🇺🇸 A #Tennessee Highway Patrol sergeant and a wrong-way driver were both injured in a crash on I-40 in Dickson County on Thursday while the trooper was returning from training.

Reports identify the wrong-way driver only as an elderly man. No name has been released by THP or news outlets. Sgt. Goddard of the Memphis District was the trooper involved; both are expected to fully recover.

🇩🇴 A sudden surge of the Barrera River flooded parts of Los Ríos, #Bahoruco, after heavy mountain rainfall on Wednesday. Two motorcyclists were swept away by the current but survived, while one motorcycle was buried under mud and debris.
