UAE-based outlet Iram News, citing Western sources, reports that the US has given Israel the green light to lift operational restrictions over Iraqi airspace, potentially allowing strikes against Iranian-backed militias.

The sources say Washington was briefed on Israeli plans and will strengthen defenses protecting US forces and interests amid fears of militia retaliation.

The report comes as US forces complete their withdrawal from Iraq and Baghdad delays the militia disarmament deadline to June 30, 2027.
