Tree Cutting Reported in Berwarî Bala, Southern Kurdistan

Reports from Kêste village in the Berwarî Bala area of Duhok state that large numbers of trees are being cut and transported toward Turkey under the supervision of the Turkish army.

Environmental activists warn that the continued logging and military activity are causing serious damage to the region’s forests and natural resources.
