📌 Tehran, IRNA – Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held talks with the Secretary of State to Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs and in-charge of the National Community Abroad, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
Araghchi met with Sofiane Chaib on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Saturday evening.
The meeting was part of a series of interactions between Araghchi and his counterparts from Islamic nations and other officials, who have gathered in Baghdad for the two-day OIC summit.
Earlier in the day, the Iranian foreign minister delivered his address, where he highlighted the founding principles of the OIC, saying the 57-member bloc rests on those contained in the UN Charter, urging not to apply them selectively.
Reiterating Iran's readiness to resolve issues through dialogue, he said the country will never surrender its sovereign rights under pressure and that peace cannot be built through threats of annihilation.
