📌 Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia says the United States launched an illegal war against Iran with the aim of destroying Iranian-Islamic civilization, but has now found itself strategically isolated for the first time since World War II, with even its closest allies refusing to come to its aid.
Speaking on the anniversary of the founding of the Army’s Political-Ideological Organization on October 16, Akrami-Nia said on Wednesday evening at a ceremony marking the occasion that recent remarks by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had exposed Washington’s true intentions and its hostility toward Iran’s civilization.
He said Rubio’s recent speech at the Acropolis in Greece was part of the enemy’s efforts to undermine the foundations of Iran’s soft power.
Unlike previous US officials, who claimed Washington’s opposition was directed solely at the Islamic Republic and that it had no problem with the civilized Iranian people, Rubio’s remarks had stripped away the mask of American hypocrisy, revealing the country’s anti-civilizational nature and hegemonic ambitions, he added.
Akrami-Nia stressed that the US rulers’ objective in launching the ongoing war was not merely to overthrow the Islamic Republic, but to destroy Iranian-Islamic civilization itself.
He also highlighted the Iranian people’s role in national resistance and in pushing back the United States, saying Washington’s principal allies had failed to come to its assistance, leaving it strategically isolated.
The Army spokesperson said US leaders had believed that assassinating the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and senior military commanders would intimidate the Iranian people and force them to surrender. However, he added, the Iranian people’s historic resistance had surprised their adversaries and thwarted their plans.
