📌 Shiraz, IRNA – Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Hossein Jaberi-Ansari has paid tribute to martyrs in Lamerd, Fars Province, upon his arrival there on Tuesday morning.
Jaberi-Ansari visited the central cemetery of the southern Fars city and honored the memory of those who lost their lives during the US-Israeli-imposed war, also known as the Ramadan War, earlier this year.
His itinerary in Lamerd includes visiting the areas affected by the enemy strikes, meeting with the families of martyrs, and inspecting the region's economic and industrial capabilities. He will also travel to Larestan County to visit the war-impacted areas there.
A pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Shah Chirag (AS), visiting the Shiraz Expo 2026, meeting with provincial officials, and a session with IRNA reporters and veterans are among the agenda of Jaberi- Ansari's stay in Shiraz.
Lamerd was struck on February 28, the first day of the second US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran in less than a year, with missiles hitting several residential areas, including a sports complex, leaving scores of casualties, among them children.
