📌 Bandar Anzali, IRNA – The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Rasht, Sergey Vladimirovich Azarov, says that Moscow and Tehran enjoy constructive interaction in various fields and are seeking to further expand mutual ties.
Azarov made the remarks on Wednesday at the first Iran-Russia Trade Development Summit, focusing on Gilan and Astrakhan provinces, held in the Anzali Free Zone.

The event, focusing on Gilan and Astrakhan provinces, is being held with the presence of Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi, Head of the Iran Trade Development Organization, Teimour Poorheydari, Head of Iran’s Export Development in Astrakhan and Director-General of Industry, Mine and Trade of Gilan; Azarov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Rasht; Ahmad Heydarian, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, Hadi Haghshenas, Governor of Gilan, and Mostafa Ta’ati Moghaddam, CEO of the Anzali Free Zone.
The summit is aimed at examining the opportunities, advantages, problems, and challenges of trade between Iran and Russia, particularly Gilan and Astrakhan as the gateway entry points for trade between the two countries.
The first specialized panel examines the challenges and barriers impeding the growth of non-oil trade between Iran and Russia via the Astrakhan gateway, moving from obstacles to solutions. In contrast, the second explores how executive bodies can facilitate Iran-Russia trade and assesses strategies for entering Russian and Eurasian markets through the same gateway.
