🕙 After 18 years, Apple is killing its 9-minute snooze

😁 That can only mean one thing – it's finally time to sleep as much as we need!

🔢 In iOS 26, the alarm clock now allows to change the repeat interval to any number of minutes, instead of the standard 9 minutes. There is also a new alarm clock interface on the lock screen with large buttons and an enlarged current time display.

⏰ AlarmKit has been released for developers, allowing third-party apps to create functionality related to the Clock app and use system interface elements to display their features.

📰 Apple has blocked all iPhones stolen during recent protests in Los Angeles, California. The devices began emitting loud sounds and displaying a message demanding their return. This was reported by The Mirror.

ℹ️ The incident occurred on Monday evening (June 9) at the Apple Tower Theatre store in downtown Los Angeles. The store was attacked by looters, resulting in broken windows and stolen merchandise. This happened on the fourth day of mass protests in the city.

👨‍💻 WWDC25 in five highlights

1️⃣ Apple is introducing a new visionOS-like design language ak Liquid Glass across its devices. It’s also renaming its operating systems around the release year, including iOS 26 and watchOS 26.

2️⃣ iPhone is getting revamped Phone and Camera apps that focus on simplicity.

3️⃣🤕 The AI features are underwhelming. There is basically a gap year. The latest additions include making Translate a system-wide feature and new tools for Shortcuts.

4️⃣👍 iPad is getting huge changes, including a revamped multi-tasking system that mimics Mac.

5️⃣ Apple Vision Pro is becoming more of an enterprise device with improved sharing of hardware between employees. There’s also support for PlayStation VR controllers and a new Logitech wand-like accessory.

🔴 Compatibility with the new OS

・ iPhone XS/XS Max and iPhone XR will not get iOS 26.

・ The 7th generation iPad will not get iPadOS 26.

・watchOS 26 will be available on the same Apple Watch models as before.

・MacBook Pro 2018, iMac Pro 2017, iMac 2019, Mac mini 2018, and MacBook Air 2020 on Intel will not get macOS Tahoe.

P.S. The next macOS 27 system will only be compatible with computers on Apple Silicon chips (Intel – game over).
