π° Apple to disable Wi-Fi sync between iPhone and Apple Watch in Europe
πͺπΊ In the EU, the automatic Wi-Fi password sync between iPhone and Apple Watch will no longer work.
Why: Under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple would be required to disclose internal connection mechanisms to third-party manufacturers. To maintain system security, the company chose to restrict this feature in Europe rather than open access to it.
π Starting with iOS 26.2, Wi-Fi sync will be disabled.
This means that when connecting to a new network, users will need to enter the password separately on both the iPhone and the Apple Watch. The only alternative for Apple was to provide Wi-Fi sync access to third-party accessory makers in the EU.
