Experiment ➡️ Explore ➡️ Evolve ✨

Four intensive weeks have come to an end, marking the completion of the InteRussia fellowship in Biotechnologies — a program that brought young scientists from Azerbaijan, China, Cuba, Ghana, Nigeria, and Turkmenistan together to learn, experiment, and push the boundaries of modern science.

What changed over this month? Participants grew in confidence, expanded their scientific toolkit, and transformed curiosity into practical, testable ideas.

What else did they uncover along the way?

⭕️Learned from leading experts in plant genetics, molecular biology, computational biology, and biomedical mass spectrometry
⭕️Stepped inside the most advanced laboratories and cutting-edge research spaces of Skoltech
⭕️Explored Moscow's theatres, history, architecture, and cultural traditions
⭕️Applied their new knowledge directly, preparing and defending original research projects

More than just training, the fellowship was about expanding perspectives, forging international connections, and seeing how ideas flourish when shared.

If you’re inspired by global collaboration in science — if you want to challenge yourself, explore new fields, and join a community that grows together — stay tuned 🌺

Next-Gen Voices: The Future of XXI Century Energy ✍️

Last week, our ASEAN fellows took part in the XVIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Energetika XXI: Economy, Policy, Ecology” in St. Petersburg.

This year’s theme — “Challenges and Opportunities for Energy and Climate Raised by a Changing Global Order” — framed two days of sharp, timely discussions on the future of global energy.

What the conference focused on:

🔗 development of low-carbon technologies and raw-material challenges,
🔗 BRICS+ perspectives on clean-energy transition,
🔗 how global shifts affect energy and climate policies,
🔗 financing CO₂-free energy in the Global South.

When it came to the young researchers’ panel, the InteRussia fellows didn’t just listen, they led a conversation on what tomorrow’s energy experts must be ready for — from low-CO₂ technologies to the talent demands of a rapidly growing Global South.

Now the group is moving from discussions to practice, exploring how Russian energy facilities operate and seeing real technologies in action. Follow along — the next updates will come straight from the sites 💬

Inside the Peaceful Atom 😁

A new milestone has just been set — the first InteRussia Fellowship in Nuclear Technologies was officially opened at the Rosatom Technical Academy.

At the opening ceremony, the participants were welcomed by:

🟣Lyana Dymova, Academic Programs Coordinator, Gorchakov Fund;
🟣Victor Mazepov, Director for International Cooperation, Rosatom Technical Academy;
🟣Irina Sarkisyan, Head of the Project Office, Rosatom Technical Academy;
🟣and Denis Agafonov, Lead Expert, Rosatom Technical Academy.

What’s Next?

Over the coming weeks, the Academy becomes a place where early-career specialists from Argentina, Bolivia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan exchange ideas with Russian specialists, explore strategic dimensions of the nuclear industry, and gain an inside look at technologies driving global development.

Stay with us — the most exciting stories from this fellowship are just beginning 🥰

Exploring Biotech: A Journey Into Life Science 🌸

This year’s InteRussia fellowship in Biotechnologies introduced a fresh approach: instead of one universal program, each participant followed a personalized track designed around their interests and research goals.

The result? A month of hands-on exploration — and three pathways to dive deeper into the world of biotech:

1️⃣ Bio-Systems & Temperature Control

Fellows investigated how temperature affects biological processes and learned how technical systems help maintain stability in living organisms.

2️⃣ Agrotechnologies & Genetic Design

This track focused on plant breeding, genetic engineering, and the techniques shaping tomorrow’s sustainable crops.

3️⃣ General Biology Lectures

This specialization offered insights into living systems, molecular mechanisms, and connected biological theory with real research practice.

To experience biotechnology in action, the fellows toured some of the most dynamic research spaces, including:

🟣 Metagenomics Analysis Lab
🟣 Molecular Neurobiology Lab
🟣 Neurophysiology Lab
🟣 Omics Technologies Lab
🟣 Agrobiotech Lab
🟣 Fab Lab

Each visit offered a glimpse into real scientific workflows — sequencing, neural research, omics platforms, plant technologies — and showed how different fields intersect to push biotechnology forward.

Biotech moves fast — and so do our participants. Ahead — reflecting on the outcomes, stay tuned.

Powering Collaboration: ASEAN Fellows Explore Russia’s Energy Sector ⚡️

A new chapter of the InteRussia Fellowship has started at St. Petersburg State University of Economics — bringing together young energy professionals from ASEAN countries to explore how technology, innovation, and joint efforts can shape the future of sustainable power.

At the opening ceremony, participants were welcomed by:

🟡 Maksim Legashov, Vice-Rector for Economics and Finance of UNECON;
🟡 Sergey Orlov, Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund.

“For the Gorchakov Fund, the InteRussia Fellowship in Energy is a special project. We hope it will spark new Russia–ASEAN initiatives and help meet the region’s growing demand for clean and reliable energy,” — said Sergey Orlov.

Fellows from Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Vietnam will spend a month learning about Russia’s energy sector through lectures, workshops, and talks on global energy, hybrid systems, nuclear power, and climate solutions. They will also visit key energy companies and labs, as well as enjoy cultural activities in St. Petersburg and Moscow.

The energy transition starts with cooperation. Stay tuned to see how ASEAN and Russia power up new ideas together! ☀️
