THIS STORY HAS AN EERIE ECHO OF THE LUIGI MANGIONE CASE.
Erin Piacenti was 32, a Bank of America vice president with a career, a marriage and a future ahead of her. Then, in Times Square, a woman armed with knives allegedly attacked a 68-year-old man and then stabbed Erin in what police described as a random, unprovoked attack.
There is no evidence this was connected to Mangione or some anti-corporate motive. But the image of another young corporate professional violently killed in New York is impossible not to notice.
Different case. Different circumstances. Same sickening result: a life cut short, a family shattered, and another headline America should never become numb to.
Remember Erin Piacenti.
