Ripple is entering Europe with payments, liquidity, custody, RLUSD, XRPL tokenization and institutional DeFi.
That is one hell of an alignment.
And it goes deeper.
Aviva Investors announced with Ripple on February 11 that it intends to tokenize traditional fund structures on XRPL.
Then in August, Ripple invested in ZILO and Licuido to expand regulated transfer agency, issuance and collateral mobility around XRPL.
So when Schnabel's slides literally show securities, deposits and stablecoins living in the same future system, XRPL is already being built around those asset categories.
Meanwhile Chainlink is already sitting in institutional projects involving Swift, UBS, DTCC, Euroclear, J.P. Morgan's Kinexys and Ondo Finance.
Quant already has ECB Digital Euro experimentation, Project Rosalind and Regulated Liability Network experience.
This is why I do not want to turn this into:
$XRP versus $LINK versus $QNT.
That misses what the document is showing.
Europe is not building one tiny blockchain application.
It is trying to connect an entire financial system.
That means different layers can win together.
Think of a future institutional transaction from beginning to end.
A bank has a tokenized deposit.
The bank's existing infrastructure needs to interact with another financial network.
$QNT-style interoperability connects the systems without forcing the bank to rip everything out.
The transaction needs FX rates, identity information, compliance status, payment confirmation and cross-network instructions.
$LINK-style infrastructure coordinates the data and logic.
The institution needs to exchange its asset into another tokenized form of money.
The liquidity venue searches for the best path.
$XRP can become the bridge between fragmented pools of value.
The final transaction settles back into regulated central-bank infrastructure.
One transaction.
Three different jobs.
That is what makes this so powerful.
And the timeline tells me this is moving much faster than people realize.
Pontes is launching in Q3 2026.
Not five years from now.
Q3 2026.
The initial model gives institutions dual settlement through TARGET2 or DLT.
Then the planned direction includes 24/7 availability and decentralized programmability.
Appia is building the longer-term European architecture.
The blueprint is expected in 2028.
And the Eurosystem already selected 61 financial-market stakeholders and public-sector institutions for the Appia contact group, with work beginning in September 2026.
This is not a crypto roadmap.
This is central-bank infrastructure.
That is what makes the whole thing hit differently.
The institutional market these networks have been building for is becoming real.
Chainlink's institutional work points toward an asset-management market of roughly $132 trillion in AUM.
Ripple and BCG have projected tokenized assets reaching roughly $19 trillion by 2033.
Swift already connects 11,500+ institutions.
Ripple already operates in 60+ markets.
XRPL has already moved more than $1 trillion.
Ripple holds 75+ licences globally.
MiCA gives Ripple reach across 30 EEA countries.
Quant has already worked inside ECB Digital Euro experimentation.
The pieces are not sitting in isolation anymore.
They are moving toward the same problem.
How do you take trillions in bank money, funds, securities, deposits and stablecoins and make them work across programmable networks?
That is the question.
And once you ask that question, the roles become clear to me.
$QNT can help connect the rails.
$LINK can help those rails understand each other and execute complex financial workflows.
$XRP can help value move between the liquidity pools forming on top of them.
For the literal architecture Schnabel showed, I understand why $QNT looks incredibly strong.
RTGS to DLT.
Legacy infrastructure to blockchain.
Interconnected networks.
That is Quant territory.
For the operational layer, I understand why $LINK becomes huge.
Data.
Instructions.
Cross-chain coordination.
Compliance.
NAVs.
Reserve verification.
