🔻 97 YEARS IN PRISON. PROSECUTORS SAY THE TRAFFICKING CONTINUED.

A sentence longer than most people will ever live. A convicted sex trafficker behind bars in California. Removed from the street. The punishment was not supposed to leave a route for more abuse.

Then came the phone.

October 16, 2026. A federal indictment unsealed in Delaware names Jamar Geeter, Kalvin Carter Jr. and Jada Hasty. Prosecutors allege a scheme involving three children and one woman. Geeter was already serving 97 years for separate state convictions. They say he used CONTRABAND CELL PHONES to participate in the new crimes from prison.

Read the contradiction carefully. The man was contained. According to the charges, his connection to the operation was not.

The alleged scheme crossed state lines. The names in the announcement connect California, Maryland and Pennsylvania to victims exploited in Delaware and elsewhere. Prosecutors describe recruitment, transportation, threats, fraud and coercion. Phones and the internet appear in the allegations as tools used to reach and entice minors.

A device small enough to fit in a hand can become a bridge between a prison cell and people outside. The bars stop a body. They cannot stop a signal passing through them. Security has to reach further than the lock on the door.

That is the detail worth following—not just the length of the sentence, but the connection that allegedly survived it. How did those phones get inside? Who supplied them? Which contacts remained reachable? Putting a man in prison cannot be the last question when children outside may still be within his reach.

Now the part that matters more than the defendants’ names: FBI Baltimore says the coast-to-coast investigation rescued three children and one woman. Agents, analysts and victim specialists worked the case. Four people were brought out of exploitation. The new defendants still face charges, not verdicts; the 97-year sentence belongs to Geeter’s earlier convictions.

The rescue is not an abstract number. Every child removed from that situation is a life that must be protected long after the announcement disappears from the screen.
