Former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar is suing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for NIS 3 million ($975,000), rejecting accusations that he deliberately withheld intelligence about Hamas ahead of October 7.

Bar claims he repeatedly warned Netanyahu about escalating security threats in the months before the massacre and says the prime minister’s military secretariat was alerted at 3:55 a.m. on the morning of the attack.

While acknowledging the Shin Bet’s intelligence failures and accepting his share of responsibility, Bar says Netanyahu’s accusations have forced him to break his silence.
