π-According to Bloomberg, senior officials in the U.S. Department of Defense plan to delay the release of an internal report on the U.S. airstrike on an elementary school in the city of Manab, located in southern Iran, until after the midterm elections to be held in November.
The airstrike, which took place on the first day of the war, resulted in the deaths of more than 150 people, including at least 123 children.
Investigators identified factors that contributed to the incident, including incorrect intelligence information, outdated satellite imagery, and excessive reliance on artificial intelligence.
Although the report was nearly completed several months ago, advisors to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth reported plans to postpone its release.
