🔸 Migration Minister Thanos Plevris: "We are cutting benefits. Go and work, otherwise get up and leave Greece. The logic of ‘I feed him and provide for him’ is wrong"

👮🏻‍♂️ Plevris also highlighted tougher penalties for immigrant smuggling, including cases involving individuals working for NGOs which in many cases operate as part of organised smuggling networks

⚙️ The minister stated that for those that received Asylum, they plan on cutting welfare and be training the asylees to work, with the goal of having them not be dependent on the government anymore

✈️ Another point being approached is that if an immigrant who was granted residency due to employment, being unemployed for long periods would revoke the residency permit since the reason was employment to begin with

🔴 So far over 25.000 illegal immigrants entered Greece

🔸 According with data from the UNHCR, in 2026, a total of 25.524 illegal immigrants entered Greece through land and sea.

🏔 5.737 illegals entered through land, in the Evros region (22.4%)
⛵️ 19.787 entered through sea (77.5%)

‼️ Out of the ones that arrived from sea 13.535 of these (68%) arrived to Crete, while the rest arrived through the other Aegean islands.

⚠️ It is important to note that the data from UNHCR only accounts for illegal immigrants who requested Asylum and is impossible to account for the illegals that simply arrived unoticed and either went to another country or stayed in Greece illegally

📅 The months of June and August were the ones that saw the most activity, with 4.539 and 5.135 arrivals respectively

👦🏾 Nearly 79% of illegals are adult males, less than 9% are women and 12.5% are minors

⚠️ Sudan (29.4%), Bangladesh (25.8%) and Afghanistan (9.3%) are the top 3 countries for sea arrivals

🔴 Greece and Israel sign €3 billion deal for "Achilles Shield" defense system

🔸 Greece signed a deal with Israel this week for the "Achilles Shield" system, which will be an air defense system.

🔸 Israeli sources claim this might be one of the largest defense export deals in Israel's history.

‼️ The €3.035 billion deal is part of a broader budget that will likely spend upwards of €4.2 billion in Israeli-made systems.

🚀 The system will count with BARAK MX and SPYDER interceptors with Israeli-made radars and a national command system designed to counter ballistic missiles, aircraft and drones. Becoming the first European country to adopt such systems

🔍 The deal's value is disputed, some sources say 3.035 bi, others claim 3.7 bi.

🔴 Terrorists firebomb homes of "New Democracy" (ND) officials in Thessaloniki

🔸 Around 4am of today (01/07/2026) two people were recorded burning houses of New Democracy.

‼️ The perpetrators used gas canisters to start fires in 3 houses in a span of 17 minutes

‼️ 3 people have been injured, one person died

🔸 The case is being investigated as an act of terrorism but nobody has been arrested as of yet.

👮🏻‍♂️ The police has stated that they have caught people leaving a gas station that night and know the perpetrators escaped on a motorcycle

❓What is it?
🔸 The MSS (Ministry of State Security of China), is China's intelligence hub, it allegedly has around 800,000 operatives around the world, most of which are supposedly deployed in Taiwan, it also deals with external operations, usually targeting external targets in the U.S, NATO or Taiwan
🔸 The MSS also has a very large contingent of State Sponsored Hackers, some say they outnumber the CIA's cyber staff 50 to 1

🔍 How do they operate?
🔸 The MSS tends to look on social media and professional networking profiles for their targets, and contact them with the intent of recruiting
🔸 Another technique used is well-paid jobs in areas that attract their targets, usually to test their willingness to provide information
🔸 The MSS is also known as one of the most aggressive intelligence organizations, being responsible for Cyber Attacks, mass surveillance and data collection on a scale many countries don't even get close

🇬🇷❓ Inconsistencies
🔸 According with reports, the Greek commander would have been approached on Linkedin for a job offer and later "threatened and blackmailed" to provide information "without compensation" across multiple softwares.
🔸 On the other hand, a few pictures were found where the Greek commander is seen smiling with two Chinese nationals (the agents) while visiting the Great Wall of China, which might show their relationship wasn't as negative as portrayed
