Копаемся в музыке для игровой приставки NES — больше известной нам как Дэнди. Вначале будет краткий рассказ о том, какие были возможности у звукового чипа для Дэнди - что было доступно композитору. Затем много самостоятельной работы: анализируем реальные саундтрэки, пробуем понять, как они структурно устроены. В конце делимся своими находками. Обязательно возьмите ноутбук. Ставить ничего не нужно, анализатор будет в браузере.

State-of-the-art in Novel View Synthesis / 3D Reconstruction — Gaussian Splatting

We're going to glance over the latest approaches in Machine Learning for reconstructing a 3D scene simply from 2D video / photos.
Mostly the purpose of this evening will be to look at 3D Gaussian Splatting — a new method for 3D reconstruction that is (almost) state-of-the-art in terms of reconstruction quality. But that's actually not the interesting part — it can be rendered at Full HD, 100 fps (whereas NeRF approaches struggle with real-time low-resolution rendering)

Main talking points:
- Pros / cons of Gaussian Splatting against NeRFs
- How authors achieved such speed both in training and real-time rendering
- How 3D Gaussian Splatting can be used for dynamic reconstruction
- Intuitive understanding of the math for differentiable rendering (both Gaussian Splatting and NeRFs)
- Demo

Basic concepts (signal, noise, frequency response, etc.) will be covered, as well as the stages of creating and developing a digital filter and interpolation filter. Additionally, your preferences, which you can specify in the registration form, may also be addressed.

We're gonna read the book "Hooktheory" from the beginning, play examples and discuss:
— how chords are built in Western music
— in which order do they follow each other
— how chords and melody correspond to arrangement

If you have some experience playing any instruments, this meeting will give you a new perspective on music theory. If you have no experience, please stop us frequently with questions – we'll try to answer them

Depending on how motivated is everyone, this meeting can take anywhere from 1.5 hours to past midnight - so maybe bring your laptops for some workshop after the talk

The ultimate goal of this course for me is to help you better understand the structure of music that you like. So maybe we'll analyze something from your playlist further in September.
