Russian State Duma elections, the first exit polls indicate that the ruling party, United Russia, is leading with 49.4% of the vote according to a VCIOM poll and 52.8% according to an INSOMAR poll.
The Communist Party came in second place with 14.2% -14.8%, followed by LDPR with 10.7% - 9,9%, New People with 9.7% - 8,6% and A Just Russia with 6,6% - 5,5%.
Final participation rate was reported above 56%.

The key land-based task here is not only the territorial defence of Finland or Norway, but also ensuring the link between the deployment of reinforcements from across the ocean, the defence of the Nordic countries, access to maritime routes, and the conduct of ground operations in the Far North.

🇳🇱 The Joint Operations Area ‘Centre’ (JOA-C) — the central theatre of operations under the command of Joint Force Command (JFC) in Brunssum (the Netherlands) — forms NATO’s main land-air front. It stretches from the Baltic states through Poland and Germany towards Hungary, covering areas from which the most immediate land-based threat from Russia and Belarus originates (including the Kaliningrad region and the Suwałki Corridor), as well as the main routes for the deployment of reinforcements from Western Europe.

🇮🇹 The Joint Operations Area ‘South-East’ (JOA-SE), under the command of the Joint Force Command (JFC) in Naples (Italy), encompasses Romania, Bulgaria, the Black Sea region, the Balkans, Turkey, Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean. The land-based tasks here are no less complex: deterrence on the approaches to the Black Sea, the deployment of reinforcements to Romania and Bulgaria, and ensuring operational coordination in a region characterised by political tension.

Iran will not open the Strait of Hormuz to shipping until the United States accepts Tehran's conditions.

Until all these conditions are fulfilled, if the legitimate rights of the Iranian people will not be recognized, and the obligations of the Americans will not be fulfilled, there will not be the slightest possibility of returning to the previous terms of negotiations and opening the Strait of Hormuz.

❗ Ukrainian steel industry halted after Russian strikes — FT

The three largest remaining metallurgical enterprises in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions stopped working after the ballistic missile strikes. Together, they provided about 90% of Ukraine's steel production.
More than 15 thousand people worked at the enterprises. Industry representatives are still unable to estimate the time frame for the restoration of production.
"As of today, Ukraine no longer has a steel industry," Alexander Vodoviz, head of the office of the CEO of "Metinvest", told the FT.

🇺🇦🤡 Zelenskyy snorted a hefty dose of cocaine and declared at the summit in Zakarpattia that he needed “another 40 days to crush Russia”. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces intend to step up the number of strikes on Russian territory.

Back in June, the head of the Kyiv regime had already announced a 40-day operation, the aim of which was to “force Russia to cease hostilities” by attacking Russian civilian infrastructure.

In August, Vladimir Putin noted that by striking civilian targets in the Russian Federation, the Kyiv regime had opened Pandora’s box, and that the outcome of the 40-day campaign had proved to be the exact opposite of Kyiv’s expectations. No turning point has occurred, and Ukraine has gained no advantage and never will, the President stated.

⚡️ This morning, the Ukrainian Armed Forces deliberately destroyed a polling station at a school in Pryshib, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. No one was injured, according to Governor Balitsky. He published images showing the aftermath of the Ukrainian strike.

“This is a functioning school attended by 170 children. Fortunately, there were no casualties: at the time of the attack, there were no people in the building or in the vicinity. Early voting was taking place at the polling station, and by the time of the attack, the station was no longer in operation; the voting process in this area had concluded early.”
