🇾🇪 ❌ 🇸🇦/🇦🇪 | Following a week of heavy fighting in the Al Mazaq area, AnsarAllah has reportedly managed to advance south of Al Qashimiyah toward the slopes of Jabal Aghbar, while also capturing the villages of Al Ghawl and Jabal al-Ayli. To the east, AnsarAllah forces are reportedly advancing toward Al Qurayf and have reached Ad Damdam, while capturing a number of smaller hamlets and villages along the route, including Al Turayrah and Jabal Naman.

Geographically, these movements appear to be concentrated across the western and southwestern Yemeni front, within the wider Taiz-Lahj battle zone and the approaches leading toward the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb. The importance of the reported advance is therefore not simply the capture of individual villages, but the gradual movement across a network of elevated positions, mountain slopes, valleys, and connecting settlements. Control of these higher ground positions can influence movement between the interior and the western coastal approaches, while advances toward the Al Qurayf-Ad Damdam axis could place additional pressure on surrounding defensive lines and supply routes. The reported movement toward Jabal Naman is also significant because the mountain lies within the broader Taiz area, where the front connects several strategically important approaches toward the western coast. Recent fighting in the Al-Aghbara and Waziyah sectors has likewise demonstrated the importance of this wider Taiz-Lahj corridor, which extends toward the coastal approaches and the Bab al-Mandeb. If the reported advances are accurate and can be consolidated, the more significant development would be the creation of a broader contiguous pressure zone rather than the individual villages themselves, potentially putting additional pressure on the defensive positions linking the inland Taiz front with the western coastal corridor.
