An official source in the Red Sea Ports Corporation confirmed that the corporation, which manages the ports of Salif, Ras Issa, and Hodeidah, has restored the port of Mocha to service and begun receiving ships arriving there. The source indicated that Sanaa approved attractive incentives for importing traders, including a 50% reduction in tax and customs fees, service fees, and handling charges. According to the source, the announcement of these incentives reflects AnsarAllah’s desire to restore shipping traffic to the port, which had declined to its lowest levels after the facility was previously converted into a military barracks that periodically received arms shipments.
