On the topic of early identification of serious illnesses, I do think this part is true. To what extent these are treatable, that is, the outcome changes as a result of having the earlier diagnoses, I’m not qualified to say.
Is it true that the vast majority of babies are bled for no advantage to them, yes, that’s true.
Is it traumatic? It varies. For some it seems a minor discomfort. For others, the parents say it was extremely distressing and they wish they’d declined it.
Is there anything in the creepy idea of a permanent record held on your child? Again, I’m not qualified to comment. Remember, things we are told which we can’t verify are rarely true.
