🔈 Your application can be qualified and still look generic.

A few things can make that happen:
• Listing responsibilities instead of results
• Sending the same application everywhere
• Repeating skills without showing proof
• Hiding your most relevant experience
• Making claims without examples to back them up

A stronger application makes the connection clear: what does the company need, where have you done it, and what happened because of your work?

We broke down the most common mistakes and how to fix them.

💗 What actually makes a crypto job application stand out?

A stronger application doesn't mean adding more paragraphs, buzzwords or experience.

It means making the relevant information easy to find.

Before you submit, make sure you can answer three things:

1. Why this company?
Skip “I'm passionate about Web3.”
Point to something specific about the company, product, ecosystem or role that genuinely interests you. If the same message could be sent to 20 companies, it's probably too generic.

2. What have you actually done?
Don't just list responsibilities. Give one concrete example of your work and, when possible, the result.
And it doesn't have to be crypto experience. A strong example from another industry can still prove you have the skill they're looking for.

3. What are you looking for?
Be clear about the role you're applying for and why you're reaching out now. Don't make the recruiter figure out what you want.

Before hitting submit, ask yourself:

Could someone understand my relevant experience and why I'm a fit in under a minute?

If not, cut the filler and make the evidence easier to see.

A strong application isn't about saying more.
It's about making the right things impossible to miss.

💗 How ATS systems affect your crypto job applications

When you apply for a role, your resume may not go straight to a recruiter.

Many companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to organize and sort applications before the hiring team reviews them.

An ATS may look for things like:
• Previous roles and responsibilities
• Skills listed on your resume
• Experience relevant to the position
• Terms and keywords that appear in the job description

That makes how you describe your experience important.

For example, if a company is hiring a Solidity engineer, a recruiter can quickly recognize relevant experience when your resume clearly mentions Solidity, smart contracts, blockchain development, audits or other work you've actually done.

If you describe the same experience using completely different language, the connection may be less obvious during the initial screening.

This doesn't mean stuffing your resume with keywords.

It means translating your real experience into language that clearly matches the role you're applying for.

Before you apply:
✓ Read the job description closely
✓ Identify the skills and responsibilities that match your background
✓ Use those terms naturally where they're accurate
✓ Keep your resume clean and easy to parse
✓ Put your strongest, most relevant experience where it's easy to find

Your experience hasn't changed. How clearly you communicate it can.
