The Russian House in Ghana launches a series of lectures about Russia for prospective applicants
The Russian House of the Centre for Public Diplomacy in Ghana has launched a series of educational lectures dedicated to Russia. The initiative is aimed at students of the engineering class who plan to enrol at Novosibirsk State Technical University and seek to gain systematic knowledge about the country before the start of their studies.
The lectures cover key topics: the geography of Russia, its largest cities, and its natural and cultural features. The material is intended to form in students a holistic understanding of the country, its territorial structure, and its cultural and geographical diversity.
During the lecture, the students showed a lively interest in the material and asked a number of questions: about the fish inhabiting the largest rivers of Russia, about the cultural role of St. Petersburg, about the northern lights and the regions where it can be observed, about who is more popular — Rachmaninoff or Glinkа, and also about why Russian ballet is so famous in the world.
The lectures are conducted by the youth wing of the Centre for Public Diplomacy together with students of Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University. These lectures will allow Ghanaian students to gain knowledge about Russia from experienced specialists familiar with the current realities of the country and its educational system.
The goal of the initiative is to contribute to a higher-quality preparation of Ghanaian students for studying in Russia, to expand their awareness of the country, and to strengthen humanitarian ties between the peoples of the two states.
