🗣🇰🇵 North Korean hackers infected 30,000 devices by pretending to be recruiters

Between December 2025 and July 2026 it hit devices in 100+ countries and stole credentials from over 7,000 crypto wallets.

The method: fake job ads from fake AI, crypto and NFT companies. Applicants got sent a coding assignment, ran the package, and that was it. Malware in, wallet keys and seed phrases out 🎣

Wallets they control took in at least $10.71M, and the agencies say the money goes straight into the North Korean state treasury.

Japan also shut down its first known "laptop farm" - a local helper's home full of machines so North Korean workers could look like they were sitting in Japan 💻
