Designed by Graham, Anderson, Probst & White, Chicago Union Station is one of the last grand American railroad stations. When it opened in 1925 it was considered an outstanding achievement in railroad facility planning. The limestone-clad structure has an austere Neoclassical exterior with a massive colonnade on the east side. The interior features a Beaux Arts-style Great Hall, a marble-sheathed waiting room enclosed by colossal fluted Corinthian columns with gilded capitals.

The gardens were used daily for promenades and public breakfasts. At public breakfasts tea, coffee, rolls and Sally Lunn buns were served at about midday, followed by dancing.
Today is home to fine and decorative arts built around the collection of Sir William Holburne.

The hub of this illustration is Capitoline, one of the traditional seven hills of Rome that was especially built up during the era of the Etruscan kings ( sixth century b.c. ), when the great temple was built and dedicated to the Capitoline Triad : Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva. Despite considerable progress by archaeologists during that time , Carlu's work appears to have been inspired mainly by imaginary and chance criteria - although he did use some elements of fact - instead of genuine historical and archaeological data.

This villa, a classical styled mansion, which Palladio executed for the brothers Nicol and Alvise, members of a patrician Venetian family Foscari. On the outside, perfectly symmetrical porticoes overlook manicured lawns and a romantic stretch of river. Inside, the piano nobile (the main floor) is painted floor-to-ceiling with frescoes that tell the stories of Roman gods. Even though it's a UNESCO World Heritage site, it's actually still a private home.
