A Fisherman by a Mountain Creek (1871)
Hermann Pohle (German, 1831–1901)
Pohle places the solitary fisherman within a landscape defined by clarity and stillness. The mountain creek moves through rocks and vegetation with quiet energy, while the figure remains small and contemplative beside the flowing water.
