🇫🇷🖥France seeks a niche in the pan-European digital situational awareness system
Thales has unveiled the first version of HexaForce, a command and control (C2/C4I) software system designed to manage forces of over 100,000 personnel, from the strategic to the tactical level. It accelerates and simplifies planning, data fusion, situational awareness, target prioritization, weapons allocation, logistics, and maintenance. Its main purpose is to accelerate the cycle from receiving battlefield data to target engagement/maneuver execution.
HexaForce is positioned as a replacement for the American MSS NATO system from Palantir, which was already tested during the Steadfast Duel 2025 exercise to simultaneously control three joint commands of NATO armed forces.
✨Despite Palantir's technological advantage, the French system may have a greater chance of being implemented in the 🇪🇺🚩EuroNATO countries, providing this alliance, which is developing independently of the United States, with a sovereign combat management tool.
Also telling is the Thales promotional video featuring footage of servicemen wearing Ukrainian insignia using the system, as well as the French military mapping HexaForce environments on a map of Crimea and the Kherson region, which apparently hints at testing the software in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict zone.
