Jeffrey Soros, the nephew of billionaire Democratic mega-donor George Soros, hosted a fundraiser for Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed at his home on Monday, according to WCIV. During the event, Soros told attendees that his family’s fellowship program, the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans, helped pay for El-Sayed’s tuition when he was a finalist in 201.
■ The fundraiser is notable because El-Sayed has made getting money out of politics a central theme of his campaign. In a 2025 interview, he said: “The fundamental corruption of our politics has been the system that allows corporations and would-be oligarchs and billionaires to buy politicians.” He has also pledged not to take money from corporate PACs.
