Requests dropped under load, and the proxy took the blame

💬 A data team was scraping marketplaces: one port ran several parallel data-collection threads. As the number of threads grew, some requests started timing out. Everyone blamed the proxy.

🔍 What we found:

One port holds up to 250 concurrent TCP connections. The automation opened more – the extra ones queued up and dropped. The proxy was fine; the problem was the configuration.

⏩ What we did: Spread the threads across several ports, within the limit. The timeouts were gone.
