🇹🇼🇺🇸 Taiwan opens Phoenix office

Taiwan Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung is expected to travel to Phoenix, Arizona, after visits to Belize and Guatemala to attend the opening of Taiwan’s new office there, according to Taiwanese media. The report said he will attend the unveiling, meet Arizona state and Phoenix city officials, and visit TSMC’s Arizona plant while engaging Taiwanese companies investing in the US.

The delegation accompanying Lin includes business groups and representatives from AI, technology, biotech, tourism, finance, and trade sectors. Taiwan’s foreign ministry announced in July that the Phoenix office would become its 14th office in the US, aimed at promoting two-way investment, with the American Institute in Taiwan’s managing director also expected to join related events.

The visit comes as attention remains on the trajectory of US-Taiwan cooperation following the recent Xi-Trump meeting. Taiwanese media linked the office opening and the arrival of the first two F-16V Block 70 fighter jets in Taiwan to continued progress in security and economic ties under the existing agenda.
