🇺🇸🇨🇳 State Dinner List Excludes Chinese CEOs

The White House on Thursday released the guest list for President Donald Trump’s state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House, with Chinese attendees limited to senior officials and no Chinese corporate executives included. The published list, released after the dinner, included Cai Qi, Wang Yi, He Lifeng, Zheng Shanjie, Wang Wentao, Lan Fo’an and Mao Ning on the Chinese side.

The absence of Chinese business leaders contrasted with broad US corporate representation, including Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Apple’s Tim Cook, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Tesla’s Elon Musk and JPMorgan’s Jamie Dimon. Reuters had earlier reported that executives from BYD, CATL, Xiaomi, Gotion, Hisense, Wanxiang Group, Bank of China and COFCO could travel with Xi and potentially attend, but the final list did not include them.

The final guest list points to a dinner format centered on official Chinese representation and US business elites, despite prior reporting that some Chinese executives had already reached Washington independently and were awaiting a final invitation decision.
