👆As of May 2026, Iran has filed a lawsuit against the United States at the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal (IUSCT) in The Hague, registered as Case No. A-34, alleging "military aggression against Iranian nuclear facilities," "economic sanctions," and "threats of force". The complaint (Case A-34) cites violations of the 1981 Algiers Declaration following military actions in June 2025 and March 2026.
The lawsuit invokes Paragraph 1 of the 1981 Algiers Declaration, which prohibits the U.S. from directly or indirectly intervening in Iran's internal affairs. Allegations includes, inter alia,
attacks on nuclear facilities, severe economic sanctions etc.
Iran demands that the tribunal condemn the U.S., order an end to all interventions, provide guarantees of non-repetition, and pay damages.👆
