❗️The prestigious £10,000 Caine Prize for African Writing has launched an investigation into its 2026 winner after AI detector Pangram flagged almost his ENTIRE award-winning story as AI-generated, The Atlantic reports.

The findings get even more interesting: The Atlantic tested ALL 25 previous winners, plus a 2021 story by this year's winner, Zimbabwean writer Simbarashe Steyn Kundizeza. Every single one was classified as HUMAN-WRITTEN by Pangram. The investigation is ongoing.
